if i had $460 dollars, or could ever justify spending that much money on a single non essential item, this would be mine-and i would love it forever. Damn you ebay.
Published in 1894 this is a nice example of the “First Issue” of the famous “Peacock edition” of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice”, this being probably the most beautifully produced and sought after Editions of Jane Austen’s classic and much loved novel, the cover features the elaborate Peacock design in gold to upper board and spine, page edges brightly gilded all-round, internally beautifully illustrated throughout with the one hundred and one drawings of the artist Hugh Thomson.
